Guthrie Douglas was founded in Coventry in 1981 as the exclusive distributor of GfA Industrial Door Drives and subsequently of Simu Tubular Motors, supplying door and shutter manufacturers in the UK and Eire.

Now, with so many years experience, our technical expertise and attention to quality have become widely recognised within the industry. Today the business operates in the U.K. from two modern premises on the same estate in Warwick, and an office in Runcorn to service our growing number of customers in this region.

Our mission is to exceed our customer's expectations by continuous improvement of our products and services through our Quality Management Processes and to reward our employees for their contribution to our success.

Working in partnership with our suppliers, our level of knowledge and expertise has enabled us to develop new products for existing and emerging markets. Today top brand accessories such as Fraba optical safety edges, Timmer safety brakes and an automatic Smoke Containment Curtain of our own design complement our range.

In 1988 we developed the world's first single roller Tensioned Shading System (Tess). This is an automated shade for operating fabric sun screens on large glazed areas - an increasingly popular feature on commercial buildings. This has since been expanded by a programme of continuous development into a range of systems to provide a complete solution for both internal and external shading.
