SALES MANAGER

Sales Manager

Warwick

£45,000 – £50,000 p.a. plus company bonus, pension, life assurance, employee assistance scheme

Salesperson: “Would you like to buy a pocket calculator?”
Customer: “No, thanks. I know how many pockets I have.”

Sales can be tough at times, some days it’s the best job in the world – everything you touch turns to gold. Other days – not so good, the only orders you may get are “Get out!” and “Stay out!”.

Thankfully, you know how to inject a bit of fun and humour into your team, when the time is right of course. Not quite on the levels of David Brent – but you have that situational judgement to create a team that feels fulfilled in their work and has fun, and not just be a ‘chilled out entertainer’.

You excel as both a player and a manager – consistently growing your repeat business, whilst managing the overall team to success. You set the tone through excellent communication combined with precise delivery of customer requirements. Regularly exceeding customer expectations, whist improving margins through efficient management of the team workload, you thrive on seeing your team flourish and develop; and your coaching led approach offers an infectious appetite to grow, learn, develop, and succeed.

What kind of background do you have?
The business firmly sits within the construction sector, therefore it’s of paramount importance that you can read construction drawings and possess the relevant commercial awareness – this could be from within a technical environment (Production, Engineering or Manufacturing). You have a demonstrable track record of leading and developing a team and you’re not content with how things are; you’re inquisitive and challenge the norms – striving to seek and identify smarter solutions. You’re also ambitious, you know you’ve got the capability to go on and grow into a senior leadership position. Maybe your capability hasn’t been spotted and therefore you’re stuck; don’t worry, your new Manager can spot a talented individual and knows exactly how to nurture your potential.

Why consider a move to this organisation?
The business is entering a phase of growth and expansion. Recent major contract wins, together with a strong pipeline of future projects, have propelled the business to make significant investments. It’s a business that embraces challenges, and believes problems are there to be solved. You’ll have a good degree of autonomy to bring your key learnings, experience, and leadership qualities to develop a strategy, and be a key driver in taking the business to the next level.
